EnviroServ can trace its history and experience in waste management back to the registration of Purle Industrial Waste Properties (Pty) Ltd in 1945. In 1979, a small group of entrepreneurs identified an opportunity in Gauteng for private door-to-door waste collection and disposal. EnviroServ is now the largest waste management company in South Africa. Careful investigations into the waste sector in South Africa have determined that EnviroServ is not only the market leader from a revenue perspective but also from a clean technology leadership and a sustainable practice perspective. The business includes a wide palette of divisions and subsidiaries offering products and services designed to reduce waste to landfill.
The backbone of EnviroServ’s operations is within hazardous waste management practise and it owns and operates five of the six private hazardous landfills in South Africa. Each landfill is licensed under NEMA and operates to the highest level of responsible landfill management.
Through this strategy, EnviroServ has emerged as the market leader in taking the initiative in redefining the way waste management is viewed by industries and customers utilising waste management sector services. EnviroServ has formed long-term working relationships with their largest multi-national and corporate customers to create customer specific waste management solutions which reduce their customers waste to landfill by 20% per annum.
